Eivind Henriksen with bizarre injury before departure for training camp – news Sport – Sports news, results and broadcasting schedule

– I was going out with the rubbish. I crawled out the veranda door, there was ice, so I went straight on the snow and unfortunately landed on my left knee. I then got a cystitis, so it’s absolutely fantastic. From a training camp in Australia, Eivind Henriksen talked about the injury he sustained the day before he was due to leave. Now he is in the sun, and does not get to train as planned. Together with his family, the hammer thrower traveled to the other side of the world to be able to optimize his training since both the EC and the Olympics are approaching. Now there have been perhaps ten sessions in total in five weeks, so yes, there are two a week. Uncertain before the European Championships As I said, he got the injury the day before leaving for Australia, but he had not expected that the consequences would be as serious as they were. – No, I didn’t think too much about it then and there, but it hurt. It was just a matter of getting on the plane the next day, and I didn’t think too much about it until a few days had passed. Then I realized that something very different had happened, he says. Furthermore, Henriksen says that he is still unsure how long it will take before he is fully recovered and can train as normal. – No, well, it depends a bit on that. If you take it easy, it will probably go a little faster. At the same time, I kind of feel like I have to test things out and see what I can do, what works and what doesn’t, says the 33-year-old. – I’ve tried a bit in the last few days. The throwing is fine to some extent, but it hurts terribly sometimes, he continued. Since he himself is uncertain about the time perspective for the injury, the natural question is: What consequences will this have for you in the future, with a view to the EC and Olympics? – Yes, it’s not optimal, it’s not. But I’ve had a lot of problems in the past too, and it’s gone well a few times. I hope to solve this problem quite quickly now, so there is still plenty of time left, at least until the Olympics, he says. Fall next again It is not the first time the 33-year-old has been in a similar situation. Because Henriksen’s career has been marked by many injuries. – I’ve been injured a lot throughout my career, so to get a little more out of it, it’s starting to be enough. And when it’s a clumsy injury like that, it’s, well, it’s just too stupid, he says. FAMILY: Eivind Henriksen is also enjoying his time in Australia with his family. And says he was close to falling again. – At the same time, it’s wonderful to just be away from it, simply the dung weather that has been at home in Norway now, and wonderful to go out in shorts and a T-shirt at 6 in the morning in close to 30 degrees, says Henriksen. – You have to be careful when you walk around with slippers in the shopping center on the tiles there, if it has rained a bit. I’ve slipped a few times here too, he smiles. Absurd WC blunder: — What are you doing? 00:29 Scandalous scenes in the World Cup: – Oi!
