On Saturday, a number of ancient relics were displayed at a press conference in Egypt. They were probably embalmed in the two embalming workshops that were examined during the excavation. Equipment used in the process was also shown. Several clay jars for storing entrails and other organs were also found. Instruments for embalming and various objects were also unearthed. One year of excavations The mummies and the other objects were discovered after nearly a year of excavations of a large area of tombs in Saqqara south of Cairo. The area is on the Unesco world heritage list and includes, among other things, several pyramids, animal tombs and old Coptic-Christian monasteries.
