4 May 2023 at 19:07 Ed Sheeran acquitted of plagiarism A court in New York on Thursday acquitted the artist Ed Sheeran of plagiarism of Marvin Gaye’s song “Let’s get it on”. It is the descendants of Ed Townsend, who wrote the song together with Marvin Gaye in 1973, who sued both Sheeran and the record company Warner Music Group. They believed Sheeran had plagiarized chords and rhythms from the 70s hit in his own song “Thinking Out Loud”.
