Conservative is just the first letter when describing the setting of Nintendo’s adventure game series “The Legend of Zelda”. It is always the green-clad Link who must save Princess Zelda and the entire kingdom. And in “Echoes of Wisdom” he comes bouncing as usual with his shining sword, this time in the same retro-gorgeous packaging as the remake of “Link’s Awakening” from 2019. It’s great with huge open world games like “Tears of the Kingdom,” but these more limited Zelda experiences also have their own charm. Naturally, the game starts with Link rescuing Zelda, who is trapped in a mysterious crystal. But he is drawn into another dimension. Nintendo’s Zelda conventions are shattered at the same time as the crystal that the princess is imprisoned in. Now Zelda is the boss. The roles have reversed: When Link is dragged into another dimension, it’s up to Zelda to save him. Nintendo Duplicate Magic Her main weapon is a wand that can duplicate objects and creatures. She can place these anywhere, which gives the whole game a puzzle-like feel. Is the chest you want to open too high up? Place out some boxes and maybe a trampoline. Are you surrounded by enemies with swords? Take cover behind something and send out your own fighting fighters. Do you want to go to the other side of an abyss? Lay out a bed or two. The player can experiment and use their creativity to overcome the challenges, such as building structures with various objects and solving puzzles.Nintendo It’s a kind of cozy version of the creative building possibilities in “Tears of the Kingdom”, and the total freedom of choice to use what you want , whenever you want, creates a fresh and unique character. At the same time, it is difficult to shake off the feeling that the building possibilities and creativity in “Breath of the Wild” and “Tears of the Kingdom” are several notches more spectacular. Sending out a giant killer robot with a spinning giant sword against hordes of enemies is more intense than standing behind a bush and watching a bird peck at enemies. BRIDGE: Zelda uses creative building options to get across the water. Photo: Nintendo Both fun and challenging Here, “Echoes of Wisdom” never gets downright boring, just to say the least. It is both fun and challenging to come up with creative solutions to the tasks you encounter. You get roughly the same engaging experience the series is known for. Caves must be explored, treasures must be found, well-known and beloved cities must be visited, enemies must be defeated and residents need help. “Echoes of Wisdom” uses the same visual style as the “Link’s Awakening” remake. The graphics are detailed, colourful, and play on charm and nostalgia. Nintendo In other words, this is a traditional Zelda game, although tasks are solved in different ways than usual. If you like the series, “Echoes of Wisdom” will probably also be a hit. When not all the way up But I still think the overall impression is a bit lackluster compared to other Zelda experiences I’ve had. The ability to do a Link transformation for short periods of time, then waltz over enemies with swords, reinforces that feeling. It is, however, possible that I am a bit rooted in the conventions of Nintendo here, and that Zelda’s experiences should not be directly compared to Link’s adventures. Because “Echoes of Wisdom” is a creative, exciting and well-crafted reinterpretation of a world, a gaming experience and a heroine I’m terribly fond of. Truly about time, one might say. For Zelda has always been an important character. She was, for example, the powerful heart in “Tears of the Kingdom”. She was a tough pirate in “Wind Waker”. POPULAR SUPPORTING CHARACTER: It should also be mentioned that Zelda had a guest appearance in the DS game “Spirit Tracks”, and that she was a playable character in the turkeys “The Wand of Gamelon” and “Zelda’s Adventure” on the game console CD-i. Photo: Nintendo I’m admittedly a bit disappointed that “The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom” doesn’t quite reach my favorites in the Zelda series. But seeing her as the actual main character in a full Nintendo Zelda game is absolutely delightful. news reviews Photo: Nitendo Title: “The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom” Developer: Nintendo EPD/Grezzo Publisher: Nintendo Genre: Action/adventure Date: 26 September 2024 Age limit: 7+ Hello, game friends!
