The road is an important traffic artery between the East and the West. At Voss, nine cabins were destroyed in a large landslide. No one was injured in any of the landslides. Cabin owner Braastad says soil and slush came in through the window in the cabin. – It was completely extreme. The water has gone under the asphalt outside and lifted him up. She says torrential rain can lead to major destruction, especially if it has rained a lot beforehand. – The soil is saturated and it takes little before rivers and streams overflow their banks. She says it is difficult to register torrential rain because it is often very local towns. In Myrkdalen, close to Voss, more than 20 millimeters of rain was still recorded in a couple of hours. – There is a lot of rainfall in a short time, states the meteorologist.
