– Dusty nonsense – news Norway – Overview of news from different parts of the country

Some people in Rødt asked at the weekend for a national board meeting to discuss the theft case. Nothing came of it. On Monday, however, an extraordinary national board meeting was called at 19:30. The reason is that Bjørnar Moxnes is on sick leave, and the national board must be informed of this. This is confirmed by party secretary Reidar Strisland in Rødt to news. – A new thing has happened today, and that is that Bjørnar Moxnes has been sick. We have therefore invited the national board to an orientation meeting at 19:30 tonight, where they will receive more information about the sick leave. Party secretary Reidar Strisland in Rødt. That’s what Rødt’s 1st deputy chairwoman Marie Sneve Martinussen says about the theft case. She met the press outside the Storting after the extraordinary national board meeting on Monday evening. – His doctor has called him sick from today until July 18. As I have experienced Bjørnar in recent days, he has been concerned with putting his cards on the table and cleaning up, and that has taken off. Bjørnar Moxnes is on sick leave after the glasses theft at Gardermoen in June. The case has taken off, says Marie Sneve Martinussen. She emphasizes that Moxnes is not a victim in the case. 31 of the national board’s 37 members could attend at short notice. – The vast majority spoke, and everyone who said something expressed full confidence in Bjørnar. There was both constructive criticism and feedback, but the issue of confidence was clear, and no one advocated any formal party handling of the issue of confidence in Bjørnar. When asked by the press, Martinussen says that she does not feel that Moxnes has given consistent explanations throughout, and that this is one of the things that is most objectionable in this case. – It is one of the big mistakes he has made. Trust may become a topic Strisland says ahead of the meeting that the topic of trust in the Rødt leader may become a topic. – Everyone who comes to the meeting tonight can say what they think, and I have said earlier that everyone in the national board has expressed confidence in Bjørnar Moxnes, but if they want to say something more about it, they can say it tonight. – Can you say anything more about the reason why he has been called sick? – No, it is not something I am aware of at the present time. Strisland was informed of the sick leave on Monday afternoon. He has not spoken to Moxnes himself. Request for internal urgent meeting On Sunday, county leader Kjell Oldeide in Sogn og Fjordane Rødt asked for an urgent meeting after the theft case. – I think the natural thing now is for the national board, as the party’s highest body, to discuss and conclude on this matter, he said to news. On Sunday, Kjell Oldeide asked for an urgent meeting in Rødt’s county board about the Moxnes case. Everyone I have heard from has expressed confidence in Bjørnar Moxnes as party leader. A couple have thought it might be a point to gather the national board anyway, but the vast majority have expressed that there is no reason to meet, emphasized Strisland, who finally stated: – It is the central board that may call the national board. There is no basis for such an initiative. – Should be three immediately Earlier on Monday, Viktor Stein, municipal council representative for Rødt Sømna in Nordland, expressed dissatisfaction with the handling of the case. – I believe that Moxnes should step down immediately, says Stein to news. He believes the party is breaking its own statutes by withholding support for the party leader – Trust is not something that a party leadership can simply adopt, believes Stein. In Dagsnytt 18 after the news of the sick leave became known, party secretary Strisland says that he has great confidence in Moxnes. – It takes a dramatic turn for me to lose confidence. – This is a dark chapter in Moxne’s book, but it is a thick book, and I don’t think this is what will remain after him in his 12-year-long leadership, says Strisland.
