A man in his 20s drove off a railway crossing and fell into a train track in Drammen just after seven o’clock. The driver has been taken to the emergency room, but is not expected to be seriously injured. The car is a total wreck, and there must be some damage to the track and overhead line. Operations manager Øystein Eikedalen tells news that the man must have missed the railway crossing and then ended up on the track. He is said to have been drunk and the police have taken blood samples from the man. The driver’s license has been confiscated. – It is not inconceivable that there will be a compensation claim for the damage he has caused to both the track and the bridge, says Eikedalen.
