Drove downhill and smashed a garage 30 meters from the road in Vadsø – news Troms and Finnmark

A battered garage and tracks in the terrain tell of the drama in Vadsø last night. A car driver who came from the city center and passed the bridge to Vadsøya has obviously not made the turn, but still almost straight ahead. The car almost flew over a willow thicket and hit the garage, which is about 30 meters from the road, before coming to a stop against a parked car. The accident car has now been removed, but according to the police it ended up on the roof. The tracks show that the willow thicket in the foreground has slowed down the accident car, but no more than that it caused extensive damage to both the garage and other cars. Blood samples have been taken from the driver. The owner does not yet know whether the garage can be saved or will have to be rebuilt from the ground up. The car in the garage is covered in broken building parts and was difficult to assess. The accident car stopped against another car which has sustained significant damage. Flying debris from the garage also damaged parked cars. The National Roads Administration’s accident team has been on the scene. Been waiting for an accident A corner of the garage is completely smashed. The owner says that she has received comments that it can hardly be saved, but she herself is a bit wait-and-see. On Saturday morning, she was in the process of cleaning up broken glass and other sharp objects in the courtyard – while she proudly boasts that no one was outside when the accident happened. The woman has lived in the house for 57 years. She says that she has been waiting for an accident at the bend, because many of the cars drive well over the speed limit of 40 kilometers per hour.
