Doorman Saman helped several injured – news Norway – Overview of news from different parts of the country

– People just screamed. They screamed and ran, says Saman. For years he has been a doorman at the London Bar in Oslo. He has handled drunkenness and fights. But shooting at the pub guests was unthinkable. Still, he managed to keep his head cool when the shots fell in Rosenkrantz ‘gate on Saturday night. Shortly after the clock passed 01.00, Saman heard loud bangs. He realized that the sound did not come from fireworks when two people on either side of him were shot. – I put both on the sidewalk at the London pub. I said they have to be careful, because he kept shooting, he says. Saman explains that a person’s actions have nothing to do with religion or background. He himself comes from the same city as the perpetrator. Feared shooting inside the pub Saman says that he asked the wounded to stay down, and consoled that an ambulance would come soon. Over the next few seconds, an unpleasant thought strikes him: What if the shooting desperado really had plans to head into the London pub to shoot his guests? Saman’s job tells how he then rushed to get as many as possible from the panic on the street and into the pub. – I said to a security guard who was also standing by the door “I send everyone in, then you have to lock the door”, says Saman. The first ambulance arrived at the scene after a few minutes, and Saman informs that there were two injured outside the London pub they had to take care of. He went on to the neighboring bar Per on the corner, where there were even more injured. Many screamed and were scared, according to Saman. Several had broken glass. There was blood on the ground. It was chaos. From the same place When the most dramatic working day of his life was over, there was no sleep for Saman. – It was a heavy night for me, he says. Throughout the day, Saman could read in the media about the accused. They are from the same city in northern Iran, according to Saman. – He’s from Kurdistan. I’m from Kurdistan. One came to kill people. Another came to save people, says Saman about their different roles that horrible night. The popular bars on Rosenkrantz Street were bombed Saturday night. Photo: Olav Rønneberg He thinks it is a crossroads that two people from the same place can be so different, and warns against cutting people across the same comb. – Hate he hated. It has nothing to do with religion or background, says the doorman. Several times in recent days, the question of how the perpetrator could attack happy and innocent people has returned. – It is a single person who destroys too many. We must not let fear control us. If love is attacked, one must respond with love and not hatred, he says, and continues: – We must take care of the community values, that we have respect for each other and that we stand up for each other. My thoughts go to those who have lost their girlfriends and everyone who is affected. Although Saman’s last working weekend before the holiday was dramatic, he is looking forward to returning to the bar to receive guests. Looking forward to coming back The staff at the London Bar had long been preparing for one of the year’s finest party weekends with a pride celebration. That was not the case. – It is incredibly sad when the freedom to be who you are is attacked, Saman says. The dramatic weekend was his last work weekend before the holidays. But Saman is already looking forward to getting back to work. – People are so social. They hug you, talk and joke with you. They do a lot of things like that, he says and smiles. He rarely checks the credentials of most guests. They recognize the doorman from previous visits. And he has no doubt that the doormen at the London pub have the best job in town. – They are nice people, Saman concludes.
