– As of now, not all the residents have been accounted for, says task leader Ole Cappelen to news just before midnight. It concerns a wooden building with four housing units in Kronstad in Alta. Cappelen will not say anything about how many people live there, or comment on whether any discoveries have been made. He confirms that smoke divers have visited parts of the building, and they are continuing their work. – We are starting to get the fire under control. Extinguishing work will continue. The police will then lock the door until a crime technician arrives at the scene, he says. Photo: Hanne Larsen / news There was a violent smoke build-up for a long time, and the police asked members of the public who were exposed to the smoke to close their doors and windows. – That smoke is certainly not safe, said the police at the scene to news’s reporter. They told people to keep their distance from toxic gases. If people have been exposed to smoke and feel unwell, they should contact the healthcare system. The house is a four-person home on two floors, according to operator Jørn Eriksen on the 110 switchboard. The message came in to the 110 central at 21.38. The fire brigade moved out with all available crew, four large vehicles and a number of smaller cars.
