Doctors Without Borders withdraws from Russia after 32 years. The reason is that Russia has removed the organization from the list of non-governmental foreign NGOs operating in the country. – It is with a heavy heart that we have to close our activities in Russia, says the head of the Doctors Without Borders Russia program in a press release. Doctors Without Borders has been present in Russia since 1992, and has, among other things, contributed to fighting tuberculosis. The organization has also carried out humanitarian work on the border with Ukraine, following the Russian invasion of the neighboring country in 2022.
