After a comprehensive review, the government finds no basis for proceeding with the case. – We have listened to the input, and based on these, the government does not find grounds to proceed with the case, says Minister of Justice and Emergency Preparedness Emilie Enger Mehl (Sp) in a press release from the government. On 31 March 2023, the government submitted for consultation a proposal for changes to the Public Information Act. The proposal was to introduce an addendum to section 14, first paragraph, of the Public Information Act to clarify that the provision also allows exceptions to be made from access to the information in the journal on internal documents. – For the Center Party and the Labor Party in government, it is important to protect democracy and transparency in administration. We appreciate the great involvement in this matter. After the consultation round, we believe it is right to scrap the proposal, says Mehl (Sp).
