8 March 2024 at 17:57 Forfang number two in Holmenkollen Johann André Forfang got off to a great start on Raw Air with second place in Friday’s qualification. Austrian Daniel Huber won. The qualification counts as the first race in this year’s Raw Air competition, which starts in Oslo, Trondheim and Vikersund. Forfang took the men’s only World Cup victory so far this season in Willingen, Germany at the beginning of February. He was the best of the Norwegians on Friday with a lift of 133 metres, which was good for second place. Marius Lindvik also got down to 133 metres, but got slightly fewer points than Forfang. He finished third and thus also got a good start. Robert Johansson jumped 129 meters and became the third best Norwegian in 7th place. Johansson was dropped from the Norwegian national team before the season and is now betting privately with Team Olympiaparken. Recently, he has shown evidence of his old form. Halvor Egner Granerud landed at 125.5 metres, while Benjamin Østvold jumped 122. Granerud won last year’s Raw Air competition, but has had a difficult season this year. He is the only Norwegian man with an overall victory in the jumping tournament. The rest of the Norwegians: Daniel-André Tande (121 metres), Fredrik Villumstad (121), Sindre Ulven Jørgensen (115), Robin Pedersen (114.5). Austrian Daniel Huber won with his hover of 134.5 metres.
