17 November 2022 at 10:10 Discovery of shipwreck in Mjøsa The Norwegian Defense Research Institute (FFI) has discovered a shipwreck in Mjøsa. The wreck found at the bottom of Norway’s largest lake probably dates from between 1300 and 1850. – This was found at a depth of 410 metres. It is a potentially very important piece in understanding seafaring on Mjøsa, says Øyvind Ødegård, who is an archaeologist at NTNU. The discoveries were made after the autonomous underwater boat Hugin was commissioned a short time ago. According to the descriptions, the shipwreck is about 10 meters long and 2.4 meters wide.
