Dina (17) is already pregnant – soon the second wave of pollen will arrive – news Vestland

Ten pieces of advice for you with a pollen allergy 1. Take medicine as prescribed by the doctor. Start in time before the symptoms become too strong. The medicines must be taken regularly and preventively, even if on certain days you have few or no complaints. 2. Take care of your own general condition, especially in the case of physical stress. Be careful with hard training outside when the spread is at its strongest. Be aware of possible cross-reactions from fruit and vegetables. Alcohol intake can worsen the symptoms. 3. Wash your face and hands when you have been outside. Rinse your hair and change your pillowcase before bedtime. Covering your hair and wearing sunglasses outside helps. 4. Extra cleaning can reduce the concentration of pollen particles that have collected and stuck on surfaces and in textiles. Pollen sticks easily to dust and gets swirled up. 5. Avoid ventilation with windows/doors, when the pollen release is greatest, from morning to late afternoon. On days with fine and warm weather, there will also be a lot of pollen in the evening. Air late in the evening or at night until early in the morning, but in moderation – it always lets pollen in. Dry clothes inside. 6. Change the filter in the ventilation system before and after the pollen season. Keep the doors, sunroof and window in the car closed, check if you need to change the pollen filter in the car. 7. Pollen sticks to the fur of pets. Showering or brushing helps (outdoors). 8. Feel free to inform your circle of friends, employer etc. about the disease so that they understand, can take care and make arrangements. Students can apply for an extension of the examination time. 9. Take a holiday from the pollen spread/pollen problems – high in the mountains, along the coast, or abroad where the spread may be less. 10. A pollen mask that covers the nose and mouth reduces the inhalation of pollen. Pollen nets can be placed over windows and doors. This can mean that less pollen enters the home.
