Did not have a valid driver’s license – will be reported – news Trøndelag

“The police have stopped this vehicle where there is no tread depth at all.” That’s what the police in Trøndelag wrote on Twitter on Monday morning. – The report came in to the police just after 11 o’clock. It was that there was a truck that was out driving with completely worn out tyres, says operations manager Bjørnar Gaasvik. Reported The police quickly went out to look for the lorry, but could not find it. At 12.15, another patrol caught the lorry at Kolvereid in Nærøysund municipality. – Inspection showed that the lorry had incredibly bad tyres. The vehicle is prohibited from driving until new tires are fitted. The police say the worn tires are some of the most serious things they have seen. Photo: Police in Trøndelag The truck is from Lithuania. The police soon found out that the driver had driven via Storlien, via Levanger – and that he was on his way to Rørvik. – A check of the driver showed that he does not have a valid driving licence. So the driver is reported for that, says Gaasvik, who adds that the National Roads Administration has been informed of the incident. The keys to the truck have been seized. – It shouldn’t be like that in traffic. This is extremely dangerous, both in terms of personal safety and that of other road users, says the operations manager to news. – It is fortunate that he has made it all the way there without anything having happened. – Life-threatening Gaasvik describes the tires as completely worn – so much so that the board comes through. – I don’t think you’ll get any worse than this, he says. – We get a few messages from time to time about trailers and heavy transport standing, but this is probably one of the most serious things we have seen – at least in a long time. To news, Safe Traffic says that this is a cross of thought for everyone who travels in traffic. – First of all, we are very happy that the police have been able to stop this vehicle and that it is no longer on the road, says press manager Christoffer Solstad Steen. Christoffer Solstad Steen thinks it is sad that vehicles like this can be found on Norwegian roads. Photo: Trygg Trafikk He has no doubt that there is a danger to life with this truck on the road. – This is a truck with great power. It weighs a lot and takes up a lot of space on the road. When a vehicle like that doesn’t have control, which we have to assume it doesn’t, then nothing needs to happen before someone risks getting it in the front. Then you have no chance, says Steen. He describes the fact that there are still examples of this along Norwegian roads as sad. – This is dangerous to have on the roads. It’s sad that vehicles like this still exist. Dependent on the public Operations manager Gaasvik adds that the police are dependent on tips that enable them to stop vehicles like this. – We are completely dependent on tips from the public. This means that we at all have the opportunity to have it stopped and controlled. He says that the police are still at the scene.
