The company gets 800 employees, two ships, port agreements and terminals with the purchase. The price is set at around DKK 400 million. – The decision will ensure that the route receives the future focus and investments needed to expand it further, says the press release. DFDS, for its part, will focus on its core business within logistics and the transport of goods and passengers. – The route is part of our history and heritage, and it is with a heavy heart that we have found a new home for the route and will say goodbye to many valued colleagues, says Torben Carlsen, managing director of the shipping company. – We have decided that this is the best way forward for everyone. The Danskebåten transports over 700,000 passengers between Norway and Denmark annually. Håkan Johansson in Gotlandsbolaget says they see great potential in the purchase.
