26 June 2024 at 13:13 Remand for 19-year-old accused of murder State prosecutor Helene Holtvedt is asking for 16 years in custody for the 19-year-old who is accused of having beaten to death his spouse Oliver Ravn Rønning (22) from Arendal. It emerged during the prosecution’s procedure during the trial in Telemark district court this afternoon. The murder took place in the couple’s apartment at Hovenga in Porsgrunn on the night of 27 November last year. The 19-year-old denies criminal guilt and claims the murder happened out of necessity. The public prosecutor also believes that the murderer must be sentenced for two episodes of violence against Oliver that occurred in the month before the murder. Holtvedt refers, among other things, to the fact that the court-appointed experts determined that there is a high risk that the 19-year-old will commit new, serious crimes of violence. The defense attorney and the assistance lawyer for the murder victim’s family will hold their proceedings later this afternoon.
