Deputy mayor Stine Akre will slow down the development of cabins in Trysil – news Innlandet – Local news, TV and radio

In Trysil, the cabins are located in a row. The municipality has a total of 7,000 cabins and holiday homes. That is enough, says Deputy Mayor of Trysil Stine Akre (SV). – Neither nature, the environment nor the local population can tolerate more cottage development. Now the Socialist Left Party in Trysil has come up with a proposal where they step on the brakes. It makes more people react. Densely built: The cabins are built close together in Trysil. Photo: Frode Meskau / news – Controversial Stine Akre says that SV wants to get a foot in the ground with the proposal. They believe that the municipality must catch up on the head start that the development of cabins and leisure properties has. Akre believes it is controversial to set restrictions in an industry that has been important to the municipality for many years. She still believes that many cabin owners are on her side. – I think many cabin owners want nature to remain untouched. Not everyone has cabins to stand up and down a slalom hill. But the proposal is not particularly popular with the developers. Fears negative signals One of those who reacts to the proposal is deputy chairman Terje Myhre in Trysil Næringsforum. They want to create more business development in the municipality. – Then cottage development is the most important thing we have. Without it, Trysil would have been nothing, says Myhre. He thinks it is good that the debate is being held. But if the proposal becomes a decision, he fears that the municipality will send out negative signals. – It is important to us that Trysil is a yes municipality. After all, we want people to establish themselves here and create business. IMPORTANT: Myhre believes that the municipality will send negative signals if the proposal is adopted. Photo: Frode Meskau / news Myhre also believes that the construction industry is concerned about the effect such a decision will have in both the short and long term. Vegard Lans Pedersen works as a carpenter at Trysil Entreprenør. He is completely dependent on setting up cabins to have a job to go to. At the same time, he says that they profit from renovating the 7,000 cabins that are already in the municipality. – With as many cabins as we have here, there is enormous maintenance work. CARPENTER: Despite the fact that Pedersen works as a carpenter, he sees some concerns with the development. Photo: Frode Meskau / news Pedersen is fond of the outdoors himself, and believes that the cabins are starting to get high up in the mountains. – Now we stand right up in the tree line. It has to end at some point. – They forget the value creation. It is expected that the matter will come up for political consideration around Christmas time. The proposal was put forward in a board meeting this week. Currently there are few supporters. Leader of Trysil Høyre Jan Terje Ås thinks it is good that the topic is being taken up. But he sees some problematic lines with the proposal. EXCESSIVE: Ås believes it is excessive to say that they sacrifice nature for the municipality’s income. Photo: Frode Meskau / news Ås believes that SV forgets the added value that cabin development provides. – It is an exaggeration to say that we are sacrificing nature for the municipality’s income. He also thinks it is problematic to have to slow down development, both in the center and in the mountains. – Then it is already limiting where it is already densely built, and in the mountains. It will be a problem, he says.
