Demonstrators in place outside Trondheim spectrum with bloody body parts – news Trøndelag – Local news, TV and radio

Tonight is the final of Melodi Grand Prix in Trondheim spectrum. And at 18.00 the demonstrators are in place. – We stand here and have a quiet memorial with grave candles to remember those killed in the genocide in Palestine, says spokesperson for the Action Group for Palestine, Margrethe Guldal Einarsen. While the artists are getting ready with make-up and costumes, a good number of protesters have turned up. They have props with them to represent bloody body parts. Some are standing with what look like bloody bundles in their hands. Demonstrators outside Trondheim spectrum with what should look like bloody babies in their hands. Up to 8,000 spectators are expected for the show in Trondheim. Eiv Rindal is one of those who intend to protest against Israel being allowed to take part in the international final of the Eurovision Song Contest. Photo: Elina Rydland Ørnhaug / news – Our aim is not to create an uncomfortable situation for those who will be in the audience. The aim is to make them perhaps reflect a little and take a message with them when they go and sit down to watch the entertainment show that is Melodi Grand Prix. Grave lights The police have tightened security around the final, and have set aside separate areas where the demonstrators will be allowed to stand. According to Rindal, both street theater and markings where people will stand with grave candles along the way down to the show are planned. – I have heard talk of several different expressions which in one way or another remind us of the very grotesque situation which is now unfolding in Gaza and the West Bank. So it could be a strong impression for some. Rindal and the other protesters hope Israel will be denied participation in the ESC final. But the European Broadcasting Union EBU has said no to that. At the same time, the Norwegian artists who will take part in tonight’s final have said that it is problematic that Israel is allowed to take part. – We expect that there will be some demonstrations. And it’s great that people show their voice there, says Jon Even Schärer in Gåte. Why is Israel allowed to participate in Eurovision, and not Russia? Both Russia and Israel are at war. Why does one country get to participate in Eurovision, but not the other? Many people find this difficult to understand.
