A demonstration is taking place outside Israel’s embassy in Oslo, the police inform news. – A certain number of people have gathered to protest against the Israeli embassy. The latest estimate is that there are 50 people. We have been there on site since the first participants started to appear, and have built up a slightly larger police force there, says operations manager Bjørn Gunnar Nysæter to news. Demonstrators at the site shout, among other things, “Let Gaza live”, “Israel is a terrorist” and “Allahu Akbar”. He further says that there is an influx with more protesters appearing. The demonstration is said to have started around 11pm. – There is a lot of loud shouting and some participants appear somewhat aggressive. But there has been nothing that has led to any confrontation between the police and the demonstrators, says Nysæter. He says that the police are now working further to secure the embassy and its property, – As well as that we are working to keep track and ensure that the demonstration does not escalate into a major disturbance. The demonstration was not registered in advance. – We encourage the participants to behave and not resort to violence, damage or anything else that is illegal, says Nysæter.
