Mosberg died on Sunday, the family told NTB. Mosberg was 26 years old and served as an ensign on the Norwegian destroyer Svenner on what has become known as D-Day, June 6, 1944. The vessel was hit by two German torpedoes and sank. Over 30 of the crew lost their lives. Mosberg was left in the water before he was rescued by a British vessel. Monrad Mosberg was educated at the Naval Academy in 1939 and was in the Norwegian forces in Great Britain during the Second World War. After the war, Mosberg was a lieutenant, captain lieutenant, war captain, commander captain and adjutant for Crown Prince Olav.
