The latest information is that the cyclist is probably not life-threateningly injured, but he has been taken to hospital, says operations manager Gisle Sveen in the East police district to news. – The car involved was not there when we arrived, and information we have received indicates that it fled the scene. – It is serious when a driver runs away. In this case, there is nothing to indicate that the person has ascertained the state of health of the cyclist before driving on. We put a lot of effort into finding out who was the driver, says Sveen. The accident happened in the middle of the intersection of county road 128. The road is closed while investigations are carried out at the scene. The police would like to get in touch with people who saw the incident and, not least, the driver of the car.
