In an interview with Swedish SVT last month, Princess Märtha Louise said that she hopes that in the future she can again do assignments for the Norwegian royal house. She also took a strong stand with the Norwegian press and referred to herself as the most criticized person in the whole of Norway. The Crown Prince couple met both Norwegian and British press during their official visit to London today. Then the crown prince was asked for the first time about his sister’s interview. – We are lucky with the Norwegian press – I would like to say that we are lucky in Norway with the Norwegian press, media that are aware of their social mission and do a good job. We have many dedicated and skilled journalists who are concerned with their social mission. So that is my starting point, says Crown Prince Haakon. He adds: – So it is clear that I recognize myself in some of what my sister says. Among other things, when we were growing up, there was a lot of attention around us, privacy and the like. It can be experienced as difficult, that. So I have a certain understanding of that, says the crown prince. When asked what it will take for Princess Märtha Louise to make a “comeback” for the Norwegian royal house, the crown prince replies that they must take time to help. – Now we have found an arrangement that we have to let work for a while, and on which we have come to an agreement. Then we will see what time will bring. Will meet William and Kate The Crown Prince couple is on an official visit to London for a couple of days. It ends tomorrow. The visit mainly concerns green industry, technology development and energy cooperation. The promotion of Norwegian literature and music is also part of the programme. Tomorrow, the Crown Prince couple will also meet the Prince and Princess of Wales, William and Kate. – It will be very nice to meet the princess and the prince of Wales. We had a very pleasant visit from them in Norway a few years ago, so it will be nice to see them again, says Crown Prince Haakon. The Crown Prince couple’s official visit to Great Britain was originally supposed to have been carried out last autumn, but was postponed after Queen Elizabeth’s death.
