Crossfit club starts kroner roll to survivors after the death fire – news Vestfold and Telemark – Local news, TV and radio

The 11-year-old who died was a member of the club. When the news that the survivors of the fire in Sandefjord had lost everything reached the CrossFit club, the three owners decided to step in. – Then we thought – what can we do? We got in touch and realized that all help is good, says Jan Terje Kleiven, general manager and co-owner of CrossFit Sandefjord. So far, almost 150,000 kroner has been collected. He finds that overwhelming. – It is fantastic that in the tragedy there is support among the local population, but also out in Norway. Then at least the survivors will have a lesser financial burden when all this has happened. Kripos underway on the fire site The police today released the name of the deceased boy by agreement with the relatives. Kripos is today starting forensic investigations on the fire site. They will try to find out what was the cause of the fatal fire. Several bangs were heard prior to the fire, and witnesses are said to have explained that the fire spread quickly. Everyone who was in the house when it burned has now been questioned by the police. – The police work on the basis of many different hypotheses, but we will wait for experts before we go out with anything more, says police attorney Ida Charlotte Einhausen in the South-East police district. The family receives help from welfare lawyer Christofer Arnø. He will assist with contact with the police, the investigation and other chores. The family has asked him to convey that they are having a very difficult time now. – They’re having a terrible time. It is a terrible situation and a tragic event. – Worthy session The school the deceased 11-year-old went to yesterday arranged a memorial service. Between 150 and 180 students showed up together with parents. Everyone received a red rose that they could place at the foot of the flagpole. – It was a quiet and dignified session. Some grade levels were more represented than others, and it is about closeness and acquaintance, says principal Thomas Mørk Bjørvik at Mosserød school. It was 11-year-old Kajus Kurila who died in a fire in Sandefjord this weekend. Photo: private Will catch vulnerable students Many employees were also present along with people from the municipality’s crisis team. Psychiatric nurse Håkon Anmarkrud says the relationship between teacher and students is still the best in such a situation. – It was strong to see. They were in mourning and teachers were in mourning, but the school had made a nice setting around the memorial service. The school has now sent out a message to parents and students to capture the need for follow-up. In the next round, Sandefjord municipality will offer parents to get together in groups. Here they will receive guidance on how to talk to the children in the best possible way. There will also be a separate offer for children and parents together. – In addition, it becomes important to catch vulnerable students who need to be followed up individually, says Anmarkrud. He says they will be able to achieve this even though it is now summer vacation. – What do children need most when this happens? – They most need parents to be confident that children and young people relate to grief in a healthier way than adults. Being able to go in and out of grief is a great way. Children manage to be sad in one moment and cry, while in the next moment they can play football and have fun.
