Group leader for the Conservative Party in the Interior Joakim Ekseth is critical of Justice Minister Emilie Enger Mehl (Sp) getting involved in the discussion about school closures in the Interior. – She is the Minister of Justice and she cannot detach herself from that. What she is doing here is an untimely mix of roles, he said on news’s Politisk kvarter. Mehl has said, among other things, that the closures are contrary to what the Center Party and the Labor Party are working for in government. She has also accused the county mayor of “prostituting herself to get power”. – Her own party leader and the Minister of Knowledge were clear in the Debate that this is a process and a responsibility that belongs to the county council, not the Storting, says Ekseth. However, the Minister of Justice believes that, as a parliamentary representative from the Hedmark Center Party, she must speak out. – I have a voice and I believe I would have failed if I didn’t use it in such an important matter, she says.
