For now, a safety zone of 100 meters has been established, the police report. – As of now, there are no injuries and no leakage, but if this were to continue, a serious situation could quickly arise with this acid and any adjacent gas tanks that could cause an explosion, says operations manager Tore Andre Brakstad at the West police district. The West Police District states that the incident took place at the Mongstad base, which is Norway’s largest supply port in terms of tonnes per berth, and one of the largest ISPS ports in Europe.
