Magne Haga held off the pre-favourite, and secured NM gold ahead of Byåsen, who had to settle for silver, while Rustad took bronze. Byåsen, and Even Solem Michelsen, struggled to hold onto their skis as three teams stood out on the first stage. The early favorite Byåsen was 15 seconds behind, as both Oseberg Skilag, Nitteldal, Åsen and Hommelvik moved away from the lead. At the change, Byåsen was 25 seconds behind Oseberg in the lead. Magnus Øyaas Håbrekke did everything he could to give Klæbo a good starting point on the anchor stage, and slowly but surely ate up seconds on Hommelvik, Åsen, Nittedal and Drammens Ballklubb, on his stage. But Håbrekke had a hard time on the last lap, when he had to drop his back to Iver Tildheim Andersen for Rustad, who took up the chase for the tight group. – Where does Byåsen end up?, said Jann Post, as Byåsen was 53 seconds behind Åsen in the lead at the passing point at 17.6 kilometres. – Now Byåsen currently has the world’s best anchorman in Johannes Høsflot Klæbo, but he can’t conjure him either, added Torgeir Bjørn.
