15 January 2024 at 12:06 Court in Pakistan believes Arfan Bhatti can be extradited According to news’s reporter in Islamabad, the Court of Inquiry in Islamabad has approved the Pakistani government’s decision to extradite Arfan Bhatti. The decision is sent to the Ministry of the Interior for implementation of the deportation decision. Arfan Bhatti tells news that he will read the decision before taking the next step. His defender Zia Ur Rehman has previously announced that he will appeal the decision to the Islamabad High Court. Bhatti is charged with complicity in aggravated terrorism in connection with the terrorist attack on 25 June 2022. The Norwegian-Pakistani Islamist has been in Pakistan since before the attack took place, and was internationally wanted several months after the attack. The police in Pakistan have since this spring tried to have him extradited from the country, and the case has been dealt with, and several times adjourned, in court hearings in Islamabad over the past year.
