– The accused is said to have said, among other things, that he himself would die and that his ex-wife would die with him, says public prosecutor Karl Kristian Nordheim. A 37-year-old man from Fredrikstad had to appear in Søndre Østfold District Court after a very serious accident on the E6 in Sarpsborg last year. The 37-year-old had his then wife as a passenger in the car, when he collided into another car. The car’s speed was 180 kilometers per hour before the crash. On Wednesday last week, he was sentenced to ten years in prison for attempted murder of two people. The court believes that he tried to kill both the ex-wife and the woman who drove the other car. The man tried to run away after the accident, while the ex-wife was injured again. Shortly after the accident, the police said that it appeared to be a deliberate act on the part of the man.
