2 May 2023 at 11:46 Control of a fire in a detached house on Karmøy The fire brigade now has control of the fire in a detached house in Austre Liknesveg on Karmøy. There was a full fire in the home, and for a while there was a danger that the fire would spread to a garage and a neighboring building. The police received a report about the fire at 11.44am. Two people were in the home when the fire started. These are now out. They are said to have inhaled some smoke and have been examined by health personnel at the scene. One has been taken by ambulance to Haugesund Hospital for further examinations. Shutdown is still in progress. The police are currently interviewing witnesses. Vestre Karmøyveg was closed for a while, but is now open. There is still a lot of smoke in the area, but it should not be a danger to animals or people nearby.
