The Court of Appeal agrees with the PST that drone accused Andrey Yakunin should be kept in custody until the trial is scheduled. The district court wanted to release Yakunin, but PST appealed the case further to the HÃ¥logaland Court of Appeal. In the appeal proceedings, the Court of Appeal ruled that Yakunin can be kept in prison for four weeks, until the trial is scheduled for 29 November. PST informs NTB that they are taking note of the Court of Appeal’s decision, and that the investigation into Yakunin is continuing. Yakunin is the son of a Russian businessman with ties to Vladimir Putin and was arrested in Hammerfest on Monday 17 October. He is charged with flying a drone illegally in Svalbard. (NTB)
