The Portobelo Hotel, which has no direct relationship with the tragedy, surprisingly published a statement ensuring that no similar event occurred on their premises, generating further bewilderment among the family members.

Viviana Andrea Canro Zuluaga, her husband, and their four-year-old son were discovered deceased within a room of that tourist establishment. They had traveled to the island with Viviana’s parents to celebrate Father’s Day and Mother’s Day. According to the family, the reservation was made at the Hotel Toné 2, where everyone stayed.

“They were at the Hotel Toné 2, which we do not understand, why the Portobelo Hotel issued a statement claiming that they were supposedly there, where nothing happened,” said Mayerli Andrea, the eldest daughter of Viviana.

“In Portobelo, my grandparents are there right now because they couldn’t stay again at the Toné Hotel, where the events really occurred,” she added.

The situation is perplexing: after the discovery of the bodies by the grandparents—who were staying in another room—they were transferred to the Portobelo Hotel. Since that moment, the establishment has publicly assured that no tragic event occurred in their facilities, although the family maintains otherwise.

“I know that they were going to the Hotel Toné 2 because I saw the reservation my mother made, so I know they were going to stay in Toné 2,” Mayerli reiterated, emphasizing that they have yet to receive an official explanation from the Hotel Toné 2, nor a public clarification about what happened in the room where the three victims were found.

Viviana managed to send voice messages to her children shortly after arriving at the hotel, expressing her discomfort with the facilities. “We arrived at the Hotel Toné. We just got here, and it is really in poor condition. It smells terrible, and they do not provide toilet paper. I felt bad for my parents. No, I don’t know what to do,” one of the audio messages conveyed.

The tragic circumstances surrounding the family’s demise have left many questions unanswered, and the public’s growing concern is palpable. With conflicting narratives from the hotels involved, the need for transparency in the investigation has become increasingly evident. The family deserves closure, and it is crucial that the concerned parties step forward with accurate information to prevent further speculation and distress.
