26 August 2024 at 10:03 The Denmark manager sick: – Enormously sad Denmark’s national football team manager Morten Wieghorst is sick with “minor stress symptoms” and will miss the two upcoming international matches. This is stated by the Danish Football Association (DBU) on its website. Assistant coach Lars Knudsen takes over together with newly hired Daniel Agger for the two upcoming matches against Switzerland and Serbia in the national league. – It is extremely sad that Morten is affected by illness and has to sit out the upcoming national league matches. Stress unfortunately affects far too many Danes, and it is therefore something we take very seriously, says football director Peter Møller. Wieghorst is employed as temporary manager until 2024. Kasper Hjulmand left the post after the EC in Germany this summer. 47-year-old Knudsen has been associated with the Danish national team as set piece coach, but has been given a larger role after Hjulmand’s resignation.
