19 June 2024 at 13:21 Climbing accident in Svolvær: Climbers now taken out The police reported a climbing accident on Fløyfjellet in Svolvær at 13.20. HRS Northern Norway now reports that the person has been taken out of the rescue helicopter and taken to Bodø. There, the person in question is transferred to the healthcare system. The person was in a climbing party of six, and fell approximately eight metres, according to the police. Police and an ambulance were on the scene at the foot of the mountain. Climbers at the site tried to four the injured person down from a mountain ledge. The police reported that the person was awake and conscious. The SAR Queen rescue helicopter traveled to the site from Bodø, the Norwegian Central Rescue Center informs. The Svolvær Alpine Rescue Group was also notified.
