Christian Michelsen finished as coach for Kristiansund Ballklubb – news Møre og Romsdal – Local news, TV and radio

– It is with a heavy heart that we have chosen to enter into the discussion with Christian about our parting ways. It is heavy because Christian has been so important to us for so many years. But like everything else in life, there is a time for everything, says KBK chairman Per Otto Dyb. The club confirms today that Christian Michelsen has been fired as coach of the first division team with immediate effect. The players were informed about it on Friday morning, the club wrote on its website. Assistant coach Sander Håskjold Nyland led training for KBK on Friday. He got KBK up to the Eliteserien after three years in the first division, and made the club a stable team at the highest level. Last year, on the other hand, with relegation after a dramatic spurt, and this year’s season has not lived up to expectations in the Nordmørsbyen either. He got the boat on the right track again, but the team has struggled to get all the way to the top of this year’s first division. Sports journalist in the local newspaper in Kristiansund, Rune Edøy, has followed the club closely. He wrote earlier this week that the time has come to ask if enough is enough. After the loss at home against Sandes/Ulf at the weekend, the debate surrounding Michelsen’s position was again in full swing, and now it also means that the man who until now was the longest-serving coach at the two highest levels in Norway had to give up. Peikar at Solskjær Klubben writes that they will immediately start looking for a new coach for the first division team. Ole Gunnar Solskjær is one of the coaches who is currently out of commission. Local newspaper Tidens Krav is clear that he should get a phone call, so the question is whether this is what Solskjær wants. Photo: FABRICE COFFRINI / AFP
