Among them, 47 aircraft are said to have been within Taiwan’s air defense zone. Chinese authorities say the exercise was a response to unspecified “provocations” and “interference from the United States”, writes AFP. According to Taiwan, China sent 60 fighter jets and six SU-30 aircraft, which are among China’s most advanced aircraft, through the strait between the self-governing island and the Chinese mainland.
