Children spoke up after watching the Supernytt episode – news Vestland

A 28-year-old after-school employee in Bergen has been charged with assaulting eight girls at two schools. The trial against the man started this week. The man denies criminal guilt. Three girls aged 6 to 8 reported that the assistant had committed abuse. The girls understood that what the man did to them was illegal after they had seen an episode of “Supernytt”. The whole thing started after they saw the episode. That prompted them to notify a public health nurse at one of the schools. The person notified the police about what the girls had said. They were afraid that the man would do the same to other children at other schools. – We wanted to stop him, said the offended girl in the arranged interrogation. Episode about abuse news has previously written that there was an episode about abuse on Supernytt, which caused three of the girls to speak out about what they had been exposed to. Now news Super editor Siril Heyerdal states that the episode they are supposed to have seen is an entire Supernytt episode devoted to information on abuse. The episode lasts just over ten minutes, and is about Sean, who was previously abused. Among other things, she spoke about this when she was a guest on Medier 24’s “Pressepod”. – We have brought up the topic of abuse several times, but it is very likely that it was this broadcast that the girls had seen. Here we devoted a lot of space to the topic and it was published in the period before the man was arrested, she says. This is the Supernytt broadcast that the girls must have seen: This was one of the episodes about child abuse that news Super broadcast at the time. The fact that the children decided to speak out about the abuse after watching a Supernytt episode makes news Super editor Siril Heyerdahl moved. – Just talking about it now makes me feel moved. Our intention is to give children an opportunity to realize that they too have a voice, and that they, on an equal footing with others, have the right to be heard, says Heyerdahl. MEANINGFUL: news Super-editor Siril Heyerdahl thinks it IS meaningful to influence children to understand what is right and wrong. Photo: Sara Høines / news She says that she is familiar with similar examples, where programs have had a direct impact in connection with cases. – It’s incredibly great that they are speaking out, but at the same time this is an incredibly sad case. If we can help influence so that they can understand what is right and wrong, then it is meaningful, she says. Was arrested in December The man is accused of rape against three girls, and sexual acts against five other girls. The assaults are said to have taken place in the period 2020 and 2021, while the girls were between six and eight years old. The man was arrested in December last year. One of the eight girls has said that she “was abused so many times that she can’t count”.
