A six-year-old child was attacked by a dog on Thursday. – It is about repeated bites on the arms and legs. The child appears to be seriously, but not life-threateningly injured, says operations manager Ove Stian Ovrum to news. The child has been sent to hospital for further treatment. – We have information that the mother is most likely to have been bitten on the leg when she walked between the dog and the child, but that has not been confirmed, says Ovrum. The mother accompanied the child to hospital. At a school Ovrum says that the child and the dog were at Furnes secondary school when the accident happened. – It must be a dog that the child knows. He further states that the dog must have belonged to a person in the child’s extended family. The police were on the scene and tried to find out what happened.
