Kadyrov is a close ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Chechen forces are participating in Ukraine, according to the Ministry of Defense in Moscow. The Chechen leader, like Putin, accuses the Wagner group leader Yevgeny Prigozhin of treason and promises to use harsh methods if necessary to stop him.
