A woman was found badly injured in a car in Askim on the night of 19 July. A short time later, the woman was pronounced dead. The driver, a man in his 50s, was charged the same day with negligent homicide. Now the police believe that the man has killed the woman on purpose. – It is the total picture that we are sitting on today that makes us believe that it is probably an intentional murder, says police inspector Lars Reinholdt-Østbye. He says that the police are in dialogue with the man’s defender about new interrogations. news has tried to get in touch with the man’s defender, Marianne Darre-Næss. She has not yet responded to our inquiries. She has previously said that the man does not plead guilty. A restraining order was imposed The man in his 50s has previously had a restraining order imposed on the deceased woman. The ban on visitors lasted until May this year. The man is said to have broken the restraining order several times. In a judgment from the Oslo District Court, it appears that the man has been sentenced to 21 days in prison for breaching the restraining order. – Information in that case is relevant to our investigation, says Reinholdt-Østbye. Will extend detention The police have concluded that the woman was injured along county road 115 in Aurskog-Høland. It is 40 kilometers away from Askim. Last week, the police confirmed that they found blood in the roadway belonging to the deceased woman. The accused man has previously explained that the woman must have jumped out of the car at a very high speed. He must then drive as fast as possible to find a hospital, according to the explanation. The police believe that the explanation appears unlikely. The man in his 50s has been in custody since he was arrested on 19 July. Now the police want to remand him for another four weeks. He will be produced for remand on Friday.
