Chaos and tension before the election of a new leader for Trondheim Ap – deputy leader resigned last night – news Trøndelag – Local news, TV and radio

– This looks like a coordinated and directed campaign to remove the chairman of the board. That’s what Jørn Arve Flått says, who last night resigned as deputy leader of the Trondheim Labor Party. Yesterday, the incumbent leader of Trondheim Ap had to go through a motion of no confidence. The whole process is criticized by Flått and several others in the party. – The processes seem to me to have been untidy and partly unsophisticated. Also this process. Therefore, I give notice that I do not want to sit on the new board. Last night, the deputy leader sent an e-mail to the election committee stating that he is resigning as deputy leader and calling the motion of no confidence an unacceptable coup. It was Adresseavisen that mentioned the case first and has gained access to the email Flått sender. Many believe that Giske is behind it – on 22 May I received a phone call from the leader of Nidaros, Trond Giske, telling me that I was a supporter of AUF and that I was disloyal to the party. That’s what Gunn Elin Høgli said in her farewell speech. Both she and several others in Trondheim Ap have pointed to Giske as the mastermind behind the motion of no confidence. Giske does not agree. – I think processes like this are always painful and difficult, but sometimes you have to have a new team, says Trond Giske after Høgli has left. He says Høgli’s presentation is incorrect. – We have probably had our differences and we have worked closely together as a team. But here it was the members of the Trondheim Labor Party who said that we needed a new lease, a new give and a new direction. Giske’s local team Nidaro’s Social Democratic Forum supported Høgli when she was elected a year ago. Now they have turned around. Giske explains this with the results of the last year. – Of course, it is always painful when you have to make a personal choice. A new leader will be elected on Saturday, but Giske denies that he wants to become leader. Johannesen / news – Quite seriously news has been in contact with party leader and Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre about the party culture in the Labor Party and the situation in Trondheim. The Prime Minister’s office refers to party secretary Kjersti Stenseng, who was unimpressed by the local team on Friday night. – It is quite serious for Trondheim Ap when personal discussions and open conflicts become the charge to a very important annual meeting. She says it is sad to read about the conflicts in the media, and asks everyone to respect differences both in politics and people. – I also hope that what has happened now will be a wake-up call for them, and that we can use this weekend to get stronger.
