These are probably objects that have already come loose after the extreme weather two days ago. A little later, there was a report about loose roof tiles on another building in Sjøgata. – The fire crews are up on the roof here securing roof tiles that have been loosened by the wind. Something may have blown down onto the street and then there are loose stones on the roof which we are now taking down to the ground, says emergency manager Jan Gunnar Dommersnes in Salten fire. Third storm in a week When the storm hits full force on Saturday, it will be the third storm to hit the coast. This time, Helgeland and northern parts of Trøndelag are hit hardest. – We expect very strong gusts of wind in some places of 35-43 m/s from the west, strong storms on the coast, the Meteorologists tweet Rain and mild weather lead to major problems on the roads in central Norway. There are large water ponds in several places and very slippery where there is ice on the roads. It has been a tough week for large parts of the coast. On Monday this week, large parts of the coast got a taste of the weather when an unnamed one wreaked havoc. On Wednesday it happened again. This time the storm had been named “Ingunn” – without that making it any nicer. The destruction was not long in coming, and one person is seriously injured after a large gate blew over a man in his 50s in Nordland. – Once again, there is a storm on its way towards the coast of the country. Meteorologist on duty Martin Granerød sighs. – I don’t remember seeing such a powerful storm, covering such large areas, as what “Ingunn” did. – There are three such powerful storms in a row, and they have been unusually powerful. But compared to both the one on Monday and Wednesday, this storm covers a smaller area. Comes straight in towards land It comes straight in towards land, and does not cut along the coast. The storm center is expected to hit around Saltfjellet on Saturday afternoon. – This time it is mainly Helgeland and Trøndelag that are most exposed to the strongest weather. Further north in Nordland, it is still uncertain how the wind will turn out there. On Saturday, it will gradually increase from the morning hours, before it really hits the coast in the late morning or early afternoon. – We get a full or strong storm from the south-west, before the wind turns to the west. As of now, it is the southern part of Helgeland and the old Nord-Trøndelag that gets the heaviest weather. There will also be some wind along the coast of Møre and Romsdal. There may also be a small storm in the Trondheimsfjord, says Granerød. Parts of Trøndelag will feel the wind more than during “Ingunn”, while other areas will feel less wind this time. – In addition, there will be snow and hail showers, which can lead to blizzards in some areas. In the south of Trøndelag, it looks like the temperature is too high, but for northern Trøndelag and Helgeland, the precipitation could also come as snow. – Then we will be able to get blizzards, especially in inland and higher-lying areas. On the coast, the precipitation will come as rain or sleet. Great excitement linked to the opening ceremony The opening of Bodø as European Capital of Culture takes place in Bodø tonight. One must add that the weather outlook for Saturday evening in Bodø is uncertain. There is likely to be a period in the afternoon/evening where it will be quite calm, and then the wind will pick up in the evening when the wind turns to the north-west. But we are not at danger warning level, says Granerød.
