We are updating the case. The rescue company moved out last night after a cargo ship ran aground at Olaskjæret in Kalvåg. There were seven people on board. None of them were injured in the incident. The coast guard and the rescue boat “Bergen Kreds” are on site to help. They will tow the boat off the ground in the morning. The police were notified at 00.35 last night. – We have learned that there is no acute danger, says operations manager in the West police district Helge Blindheim. – The hope is that the high tide can get the boat off the ground, he adds. The police have no further role in the case, unless there is a need to investigate the incident, says Blindheim.
