8 February 2024 at 09:14 Trønder-Avisa: Car killer in Steinkjer gets 15 years in prison – escapes custody The 31-year-old who was sentenced to 15 years in custody in Trøndelag district court after the car murder of Sigve Bremset in Steinkjer on Easter Sunday last year, was sentenced in the appeal case to 15 years jail. 21-year-old Sigve Bremset was run over in the center of Steinkjer on 9 April and died from his injuries. A 31-year-old man was sentenced in Trøndelag District Court on 13 November last year to 15 years’ detention with a minimum term of ten years for the murder. He pleaded not guilty and appealed the entire sentence, but the Frostating Court of Appeal would only deal with the sentencing and the assessment of the compensation amount, reports Trønder-Avisa. The Frostating Court of Appeal concluded, in contrast to the district court, that the correct penalty is 15 years’ unconditional imprisonment. The judgment was delivered during the dissent.
