Oslo municipality has already limited its water consumption. If magazine filling falls even more, the municipality must introduce more measures. Then all water for municipal use will cease. – If it gets very hot and dry in the future, we can get there in September. That is why it is important that people continue to be smart with their water use, says Hult. Stricter measures The last time Oslo saw such a low level was in 2018. After several months of little rainfall and high heat, Oslo municipality introduced a watering ban. To avoid a repeat, Hult is now hoping for a lot of rainfall into the field. – If we reach measure level 3, there will be a ban on garden watering, car washing and that type of thing, he says. Today we are at measure level 1, but if the drought continues, it may be appropriate to go to level 2 as early as September. Level 3 can be implemented in October if the situation does not improve.
