25 May 2023 at 14:04 Calls for more measures after crow paralyzes train traffic The National Accident Investigation Board believes there were several reasons why it had major consequences when it started to burn in several places along the railway track in Sandefjord in the summer of 2021. A bird was probably the cause of the plant short-circuiting. The fire led to reduced capacity south of Sandefjord for a long period, and it cost approximately NOK 90 million to repair the damage. The system which was supposed to ensure that the voltage was switched off did not work as it should, the Accident Investigation Board writes in a new report. The National Accident Investigation Board asks both the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Justice and Emergency Preparedness and Bane Nor to review routines and assess changes after the incident.
