8 February 2023 at 16:06 Poem on avalanches nominated The poem collection “Dissertation on avalanches” by Tilde Strand The book is one of three nominated books for Tarjei Vesaas’ debutant prize. Some of the poems are based on the Kletthammerskredet, an avalanche that occurred in Oppdal in 1868. This year, there are only three books nominated for the award, compared to the usual five. The other two are Maria Horvei’s novel “Congratulations with the day” and M. Seppola Simonsen’s poetry collection “Hjerteskog”. The Debutante Prize will go to the best fiction debutant under the age of 35. The Norwegian Writers’ Association reports that the number of debutants under the age of 35 was lower in 2022 than has been common in recent years. The prize winner will be announced on Saturday 18 March 2023.
