The police confirm that one person has been arrested. Operations manager Arild Reite says that two people were observed, so the police are still looking for a suspect. – Now we also get assistance from the police helicopter from Oslo which flies in the area. Suspicious car The police are conducting an extensive search at Holmemstranda in Rauma after a car drove off the road on Monday morning. – A patrol was on its way to Molde, after the break-in at a watchmaker, when they met a car that looked like the one that had been observed in connection with the break-in. They tried to stop the driver who instead drove off the road, says Arild Reite, head of operations in Møre and Romsdal police district. The people in the car then fled the city. They are now being searched for with a drone, dogs and police officers in the area. The car is parked outside in a field. The police suspect that the car has a connection with the break-in at the watchmaker in Molde last night. – It’s the same type of car. We are trying to locate those who ran away from the car to find out if there is a connection, says Reite. Has been observed Police patrols from Molde, Rauma and Ålesund participated in the search. At 11.30 Reite states that they are looking for two people. – The dogs have found tracks and observations have also been made from a long distance several times, so we believe that the persons are still in the area, but we have not arrested anyone so far, says the operation manager. So far, Reite will not say anything about whether the stolen goods were found in the car that has been abandoned. – Forensic technicians must carry out examinations of the car first, he says.
