Around 50 people have been evacuated. – The fire has been reported under control, says duty commander Dan Inge Gjesdal at the 110 switchboard. When the fire brigade arrived at the scene, a lot of black smoke was reported from the roof of the building. At 14.32 the fire was declared extinguished. The entire building has been evacuated and the fire brigade feel confident that there are no more people inside. – We haven’t had any personal injuries reported to the police either, so we’re happy about that, says operations manager in the police, Helge Blindheim. The fire occurred close to wooden buildings in one of the defined fire contagion areas. It is currently unknown where the fire started. – We have received a report that someone has set fire to the oven a few hours ago, but it is uncertain whether this has any connection with the fire. The cause of the fire is currently unknown, says Blindheim. The police currently do not have an overview of damage to the building, but according to Blindheim there is some fire damage in the construction and some on the roof of the building.
